Events, worksessions and paddling
practices will be posted on the Google calendar for the
team or by email through the BYC listserv. If you
wish to be added to the listserv, please contact the team
at
boneyardyc@uiuc.edu.
Events throughout the year:
Canoe Worksessions
- Held in B151 Newmark (east end of the basement)
- Typically Tuesday and Thursday at 7 PM
- Building cross-sections, molds, sanding, sealing
and more events throughout the year.
Paddling Sessions
- Usually Saturdays at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana
in the fall and spring when the weather is warm
- Meet at the South Doors of Newmark Lab and we will drive there.
BBQ/Picnic
- Recruitment begins in the fall with a BBQ/Picnic
at Crystal Lake.
- We'll take out the canoes for paddling and have
fun with the team.
- Free food for anyone who comes.
- Meet at the South Doors of Newmark Lab and we will drive there.
- Annual Team awards will be held after the season
is over
Cross-Section Cutting
- In the fall semester we go to Villa Grove to get
our cross-sections milled
- All day event on a Saturday or Sunday
- A lunch will be provided.
Casting Day
- In early spring semester, we spend a Saturday or
Sunday and cast the entire canoe with concrete,
usually takes 2-4 hrs.
- Held in B151 Newmark
- The more people the better! We always need extra
hands
- Free food will be provided for those who help
Regional Competition
- Next regionals will be April 2008 at University
of Evansville

National Competition
- June 14-17th, 2007 at Washington State
University in Seattle
